Time for Spring..?

Monday was the first official day of Spring so it seemed only fair that the weather should pay attention and well...erm...stop this darn rain and get hot?

So for a brief reprieve the rain lifted and we had a glorious day, where the only fitting thing seemed to be for a road trip to the coast.

We took off to Orewa - not the most auspicious of seaside spots (it's no Blackpool though!) but it has a beautiful long sandy beach littered with shells and interesting un-english seaside detritis. We had a little wander picking up the odd 10 inch long Mussel shell (a meal in itself?!) then we stopped off for an Ice Cream. No trip to any Kiwi Ice Cream shop, (we were informed) is complete without partaking of 'Hokey Pokey' a kind of mixture of creamy vanilla and crispy caramel(?) pieces. I still don't know what a Hokey Pokey is...but the ice cream wasn't bad.

The final course for the day (wrong order?) was a spot of "Fush & Chups". Bring on more sunshine!

Interesting blog. Learned a new word today, antipodean. Interesting. I came across your blog while blog surfing using the “next blog” button on the Nav Bar of blogger.com. I am continually fascinated by the types of blogs that exist on the Internet, and the various, creative ways in which people all over the globe express themselves. Thanks for sharing.

My blog is dedicated simply to making people think differently about societal issues. As I often tell people, instead of encouraging people to believe that there are 2 or 3 ways to look at something, I want them to realize that there are at least 27. Hopefully such an approach will result in more creative, innovative solutions to societal ills. Have a visit should you like, and subscribe for updates should you like the substance:
