The fact that it is an Automatic will take a little getting used to - that and the fact that the indicator is located on the opposite side of the steering wheel (There have now been several occasions where I have turned a corner with the windscreen wipers going - always helpful! - especially for the other road users who have absolutely no idea what I am doing - oops!)
It is great to have the freedom to get out and about and although we have been too busy to get out much over the last few days (see my other post) it's just nice to know you can if you want!
In the background of this pic you can see our house. Pretty typical Kiwi design, built by Heather's Grandfather so it's full of history for the family. Over the weekend we moved into our own lovely big room so we are sorted for space and have finally unpacked and located all our stuff. It truly is amazing how much you can squeeze into three relatively small suitcases, and even though the room is huge it feels homely.
So after under two weeks we feel truly at home. Our own space, our own car and what feels like a ready made family! I am amazed at how little culture shock we are experiencing coming from living on our own for so long to a house full of noisy and boisterous teenagers with their angst and attitude! They are all great!
