Storyboarding & Conceptualising...

A little while back I mentioned that we have been doing some concept work and storyboarding for this music vid we're doing with Jordan - SO, I thought I would post some pics of our work as it is now complete...

Lee's work was a time consuming creation of over 50 small pics all beautifully executed in Bic Biro. He had to think about the position of the camera, lighting and characters so that when we come to shoot the Director and everyone else involved will know what to do... Eeek! The responsibility!

One of three large boards containing all the small pictures with Director's notes / camera movements etc:

Closeup of small frame containing Director's notes, followed by some other close-ups:

Whilst Lee was doing that, I had the chance to paint concepts of the environments we will be shooting in. These are completely from my head so have not a lot to do with how things will end up, BUT they do give the Art Director (cool job!) something to work from with regards to props, colouring, mood etc etc etc. Here I have shown - house exterior, Trailer interior, Circus interior & end shot of band walking towards moon...

It's actually quite amazing how involved you get when you've done something like this - I am sure that both lee and I know exactly how we think it all should look! Whether our separate ideas will be actualised in any way remains to be seen...
